PLACES TO VISIT IN LANAI

Puu Pehe
The Pineapple Island of the world is a place of interest of the Hawaiian tourists. While you can reach this by air, served by the Lanai airport, there is also a daily ferry service from Lahaina, Hawaii. Lanai was in fact the site of a kayaking challenge in the finals of the famous series Amazing Race 11.
Tourism recently began to flourish on this island with the phasing out of the pineapple produce. There are number of sites that attract many tourists. Puu Pehe or the “Sweetheart Rock” situated somewhere between the Manele Bay & the Huloepoe Bay is one of the most recognizable landmarks of Lanai. The reason can be attributed to its association with the island’s legends.
Keahikawelo is also a place of great interest for this site captures a cinematic view of the result of erosion. Also known as the “Garden of Gods”, one can see boulders of different shapes, sizes & colors. This apart, the pineapple fields, the shipwreck beach & beautiful mountains have a magnetic charm about them. There are two resorts: the Manele Bay & the Ko ele. It should be noted that many of island’s sites are located off dirt roads, which have to be reached via four-wheelers.
