The University of Hawaii also popularly known as UH is a co-educational college & university that rewards associate, bachelors, masters, doctoral & post doctoral degrees to its students. The university has three campuses & seven community college campuses, an employment-training center, three university centers & various other research facilities spread out across the six islands of the Hawaii. It is pertinent to note that all the schools & colleges under the University of Hawaii are accredited by the Western Association of Schools & Colleges.

This university was founded in 1862 under the Morrill Act as a land grant college. The University of Hawaii at Hilo at the Big Island of Hawaii is the second largest institution of the University of Hawaii. Hawaiian Pacific Studies, Astronomy, Linguistics, Asian Studies, Medical, Law, Second Language Studies, East Asian Languages & Literature & Ethnomusicology are some of the prized programs of this institution. Several schools were opened under this university to improve the accessibility of the various students residing in Hawaii & to further help them in their transition from junior schools to high schools, from high schools to colleges & thereafter to the university. The aim of this university is to impart quality education & training to all its citizens.
