Ala Moana Center History

Walter Dillingham’s son Lowell had a vision and wanted to develop a grand shopping center. So ten years later in 1959, the two story Ala Moana Shopping center was opened. The mall underwent renovation in the year’s 2007 and 2008.

The Beard Papa Café is the place for some of the most delicious and one of the world’s best Cream Puffs, Haupia, cream puffs, heavenly vanilla and chocolate plus more!

It is located at Foodland at the street side of the shopping center and is a Japanese origin food brand. Also popular is the Beard papa café savory breakfast puffs and other delicacies, all day long!

The Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. (upper Level 4) serves shrimps, shrimps and only shrimp dishes! But it has a few exceptions to its menu which includes Dixie style Baby Back ribs, fired steak, all American burgers, sandwiches and many more!

Ala Moana Shopping Center Gift Cards

Ala Moana Shopping can be enjoyed more with the Shop etc. Gift Cards (American Express is accepted for usage from $20 up to $500) which are available at the customer service center at Street Level across from Centerstage.

Only credit cards like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB are recognized and accepted at the Ala Moana Shopping Center Hawaii. Please note that Ala Moana Center’s GGP Gift Cards are accepted and even GGP Gift Cards purchased at other GGP Malls are legitimate.

The Ala Moana Shopping Gift card allows customers to have the ultimate shopping experience! The Gift card can be used at close to 290 stores and restaurants at the Ala Moana Center.

Ala Moana Center parking details

Ala Moana Shopping Center Hawaii has valet parking throughout the year on the Mall Level, Mauka Side near the store GAP.

Parking hours are – From Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm; Valet Parking charges $6 per vehicle. The service is closed on Sunday; handicap parking is available for free.

At the Mall Level (Makai side), Neiman Marcus renders customers valet service which is complimentary of Neiman Marcus. Service is open from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 8 pm; Saturdays- 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday – 11 am to 6 pm.
